1. Thinking about the Poem

Ans: Traveller stands in the woods where the road has diverged. He was standing on the road, divided into two paths, and he had to choose one path.     

Question 2: Discuss what these phrases mean to you:  

                   (i) a yellow wood  

                  Ans: Yellow wood represents the autumn season. Yellow wood indicates old age in life when human beings lose all his charm and activities.  

                           (ii) it was grassy, and I wanted to wear 

                Ans: The poet explains the grassy road on which the flora is undisturbed. This road should be researched or traveled. He illustrates the road by describing ‘wanted wear.’ 

              (iii) the passing there 

              Ans: The phrase explains the other path. This is the path on which people followed frequently. The poet expresses this road as secondary.  

                (iv) leaves no step had trodden black
