IV Answer these questions in two or three paragraphs (100 –150 words).

Question 1. What are the main features of the mechanical teachers and the schoolrooms Margie and Tommy have in the story?

Answer: Margie and Tommy had mechanical teachers to teach them. They were taught at home through a large screen next to their bedrooms. The digital books were displayed on that screen. Mechanical slots were given to them to submit their homework. Slots were given for assessments. They were taught Arithmetic, history, and geography.

Their classes were conducted regularly except Saturday and Sunday. Their mother believed junior students learn better with a proper schedule. With this, they have a dull and monotonous routine. They are captivated when they find the real or actual book.

Question 2. Why did Margie hate school? Why did she think the old kind of school must have been fun?

Answer: Margie was taught by a mechanical teacher every year. She didn’t like school because the school was boring and monotonous. She could have performed better in geography as her mechanical teacher was relatively fast from the age of displaying the questions. Her mother was not satisfied with her performance. She took Margie to the County Inspector.

The county inspector found that Margie hated to have the homework and assessment papers inserted into a mechanical teacher. She thought old schools, where teachers and students gathered in the same building, were good. They were taught by teachers physically. They sat together, played, and laughed. Their teaching was fun-loving and interactive.

Question 3.  Do you agree with Margie that schools today are more fun than the school in the story? Give reasons for your answer.

Answer- I agree with Margie that schools today have more fun than future schools in the story. There is no interaction between students. Teaching on a big screen is boring. Inserting homework and test papers is tedious work.

Training in the schoolyard was a bigger platform for students to learn. They were gathered in one building, sat, laughed, played, and studied together in schoolrooms. The students were going home together at the end of the day. They learn the same things so that they can help each other. Above all, the teachers were human beings. Students can freely interact with teachers. That’s how the schools have more fun than those in the story—thinking about Language.
