Highlights of India vs South Africa 2nd Test Match 2nd Day Update
South Africa resumed the play from 62/3 on 2nd day. Aiden Markram and David Bedingham were playing on 36 and 7, respectively.
South Africa lost half of their side with 13 runs. They are still behind. Aiden Markram battled against India and played like one one-man army. After 50, he changed his gear. But Bumrah strikes again. Marco Jansen departed for 11. Next to him was Keshav Maharaj. He was caught at the gully by Shreyas Iyer. At this stage, South Africa was leading by 13 runs.
Aiden Markram took advantage of the life provided to him by K.L. Rahul. He welcomed Prasidh Krishna and collected a four and a six in one over. Markram scored 20 runs in Prasidh Krishna’s over.
Aiden Markram slams a brilliant century. It was a magnificent inning. Captain Elgar was very enthusiastic. An excellent knock ended in the form of Markram’s dismissal. Mohd. Siraj ended Markram’s innings at 106 on 103 balls. Rohit Sharma took the catch of Markram.

After Markram, another outbreak came in the form of Kagiso Rabada. Finally, Prasidh Krishna took his wicket. Once again, Rohit Sharma took the catch at the mid-off position. The last SA pair added a valuable score. Jaspreet Bumrah was on attack once again. South Africa was all out at 176 in 2nd inning.
Guard of Honor was presented to Dean Elgar from Team-mates as he was playing his last test. A big round of applause came from the crowd.
India needed 79 runs to win the match. India was once again in chase position. Yashsavi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma were once again on the crease. Yashsavi was in attacking mode. Boundaries came from Yashsavi’s bat.
Yashsavi & Gill fall, but India is closer to a series-equalizer. Rohit got another lifeline. His catch was dropped. Kohli also walks back, only a difference of 5 runs to win.
Finally, India won the match. The winning shot came from Shreyas Iyer’s bat. India has won the game by seven wickets. The tie-series test match was finished in one and a half days and consisted of 642 balls only. It was the shortest test match. It was a modest victory. The hero was Mohd. Siraj & Jaspreet Bumrah.It was an urgent attack.
India was the first Asian country to win a test match in South Africa at Cape Town in 31 years.
The Player of the Match award went to Mohd. Siraj. The player of the series was a tie between Jaspreet Bumrah & Dean Alger. India & South Africa won the trophy jointly.
India learned from its mistakes. India came back consistently, especially our blowers. A lot of credit to Siraj, Bumrah, Prasidh and Mukesh. Indians are happy to be able to do it in this game. Great Series.
