Ind Vs SA 2nd Test Match Day 1 Highlights
The first day between India and South Africa is over. South Africa is playing its 2nd inning on the score of 62 runs on the loss of 3 wickets. Still, SA is lagging behind India by 36 runs. In the first inning, SA made 55 runs. Team India earned a total of 153 runs in its first innings.
The Cape Town test match is crucial for India if Team India loses this match. Team India will also lose the series. It will affect its ICC ranking also.
It was an excellent beginning for Team India in saving the series of test matches against South Africa. SA was all out at the score of 55 runs in the first inning. In this inning, Indian bowler Mohhamad Siraj has taken 6 wickets on 15 runs. Instead of him, Jaspreet Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar took two wickets each and crashed the SA innings. Before this, Team India faced a defeat of 32 runs in the first match.
Dean Alger South African Team Captain 2nd Test Match – SA Toss Won and Elected to Bat First
Dean Alger is the new captain of the South African team in the 2nd test match. In this match, SA won the toss and elected to bat first. South Africa has made two changes to its team. In place of Temba Bavuma, Triston Stabs will play. This is his first test match. Keshav Maharaj will play in place of Zerald Koaitji. This is the 2nd change.
Team India has also made 2 changes. Ravindra Jadeja & Mukesh Kumar will play in place of R. Ashwin & Shardul Thakur.
SA skipper Dean Alger & Eden Markram have started the innings. Markaram was out on the 2nd ball of the 4th over. Mohd. Siraj has taken his wicket. The ball touched the bat’s outside edge, and Yashsavi Jaiswal took the catch in slips.
2nd shock for SA was in the form of Dean Algar when he was bold out once again Mohd. Siraj is in sixth over 3rd bowl.
The 3rd wicket of Stab was taken by Jaspreet Bumrah in the 9th over. Skipper Rohit Sharma took his catch. After Stab, Georgi was also out by Mohd. Siraj. At this stage, the Team India explosion continued. SA lost four wickets on the score of 23 runs only.
The 5th wicket fell on the 2nd ball of the 17th over in the form of David Baidingham. Yashsavi Jaiswal caught him. Further, the 6th wicket was taken by Mohd—Siraj of Yansen. The ball was taken to the bat’s outside edge and caught behind by wicketkeeper K.L. Rahul. Further Mohd. Siraj took his 6th wicket of Kyle Verreynne. At this stage, Mohd Siraj ruined the SA innings. Tem SA lost its seven wickets on the score of 45 runs.
The quick wicket-falling process was in continuation. The 8th wicket fell on the score of 46 only. Mukesh Kumar took the wicket.
Finally, Team SA was all out at the score of 55 runs. Mohd Siraj has taken six wickets, two from Jaspreet Bumrah & Mukesh Kumar. On the South African end, Kyle Verreynne was the maximum run scorer. He made 15 runs.
After these short innings, Team India started its innings. Rohit Sharma & Yashsavi Jaiswal have started the innings. Team India got its first shock in the form of Yashsavi Jaiswal. He was out on duck. Shubhman Gill was the next batsman. At this time, Rohit Sharma played a thunder inning 7 & was out in the 15th over with a score of 39 runs. Virat Kohli was the next batsman. He also played a stormy innings. Shubhman Gill was the next wicket. At this time, India has taken the lead in 50 runs.
Next, Shreyas Iyer was also out on duck. Now Virat Kohli & K.L. Rahul were on the crease. Till tea time, the Indian team had 56 runs lead. Then, the major disaster came in the form of the wicket of K.L. Rahul. After that, Ravindra Jadeja. The fall of the wickets of the Indian team was also started like Team SA. There was a time when Team India was at 153/4. Four batsmen were out on the duck & the position of the Indian team was 153/8. Finally, Team India was out at the score of 153 all out.
Team SA started its 2nd innings. Mukesh Kumar has taken 1st wicket of the SA team. Mukesh Kumar is playing his last match. The 2nd wicket was also taken by Mukesh Kumar & 3rd wicket was taken by Jaspreet Bumrah. The play was finished with a score of 62 runs on the loss of 3 wickets of Team SA.
At the end of 1st day of play, Team India had taken the lead of 36 runs. The play will be resumed on the next day.
